Mazatlán, Doña Chonita
Doña Chonita is located on the Eastern edge of Mazatlan. Mazatlan is a growing city, with much of the tourism growth focused on the Northern end, while the national growth extends to the East, with Doña Chonita at the center. Dozens of new subdivisions and communities have been built within walking distance of the church property. Many of the new subdivisions are lovely concrete homes built for working class residents. There are also two large impoverished tar-paper shacks communities within walking distance, where La Vina has developed a presence through outreach events including: large group feedings, medical support, and even some more specific aid to truly needy families.
